What an absolute honor it was to photograph this darling family and their precious little pumpkin during peak fall perfection at The Patch in Cedar Falls, IA. Our tiny star was celebrating his 6-month milestone—cute as a button and definitely ready for a cozy nap. But thanks to the dream team of mom, dad, and grandma working their magic in the background (bless those grandmas and their supernatural ability to summon the biggest grins), we captured some seriously adorable moments. Because let's be real: grandmas just know.
The Patch
Can we talk about The Patch for a moment? It was my very first visit, and friends, if you haven't been, what are you even doing? This place is autumn enchantment at its finest. Picture this: cheerful mums guiding your path like nature's welcome committee, pumpkins in every color and size scattered about like fall confetti, farm-fresh eggs for the taking, and—hold onto your pumpkin spice lattes—the most charming photobooth setups, and an adorable mini lemonade trailer that had me immediately Googling "where can I buy one of these?" #MiniTrailerGoals, anyone?
But the real genius? The photobooths come complete with tripods for your phone. Brilliant. Someone was definitely using their noggin when they designed this place. You know that frustration of wanting the perfect fall selfie but lacking that crucial third arm? Problem. Solved.
2026 Season
