A Little About Me
I'm a creator and researcher with a genuine passion for visual storytelling. I approach my work with a laidback, collaborative spirit—I believe the best creative work happens when people feel comfortable being themselves.
My educational foundation was built between 2008 and 2014, earning three degrees: an Associate of Applied Arts in Graphic Design Communication from Hawkeye Community College, a Liberal Arts degree from Hawkeye, and a Bachelor's in Electronic Media Communication from the University of Northern Iowa. Once a Panther, always a Panther—that purple pride runs deep!

In 2016, I took the leap and founded Miss Sara Designs LLC. The name "Miss Sara" comes from my first job at the Country Inn & Suites in Cedar Falls, where guests and colleagues gave me that nickname. It stuck with me as a reminder of the community that supported me from the very beginning. I carry that same spirit of warmth and gratitude into every project I take on today.
Outside of work, I'm happily married to my wonderful husband, Ian Olmstead. We share our home with three cats—Haldor, Druid, and Freyr (all Nordic names, courtesy of my creative sister!). They occasionally make guest appearances in my videos and have become unexpected collaborators in their own right.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to connect with you through my work, and I look forward to creating something meaningful together.

Miss Sara is amazing! She was so patient with my shy three year old and got so many amazing shots, even when it wasn’t staged. It was the least stressful photo shoot my daughter and I have ever done and I love the outcome !
